The festival of Raksha Bandhan is round the corner and people have started flocking to markets to buy rakhis. Despite the fact that market is facing price hike, instead of buying Chinese Rakhis, people are in favour of buying Indian-made rakhis that are expensive. Giving details one of the shopkeepers said that the tension between India and China is the reason behind decrease in demand of Chinese rakhis.
According to ANI, Chinese Rakhis were always high in demand due to its less price and good looks, but this year, Indians are not preferring it. Indians are finding ‘Swadeshi’ Rakhis to be better-designed, even though they are on the expensive side. As per the Hindu calendar, Rakhi usually falls on the full moon day or Pu ima of the Shravan month and this year it will be celebrated on August 7. On this auspicious day, sisters tie thread to their brother for their protection.
